Pace Academy Math Tutoring in Atlanta

Personalized, in-home math tutoring for students at Pace Academy. AnyThink helps students understand the mathematical structure beneath the procedures they encounter in class. We identify gaps that interfere with their current work, carefully rebuild those concepts, and teach students to approach unfamiliar problems with increasing independence.

Serving Pace Academy families in Buckhead, Chastain Park, Vinings, Sandy Springs, and surrounding Atlanta communities.

Math Support for Pace’s Rigorous Coursework

Pace’s advanced mathematics courses require students to apply earlier concepts with increasing flexibility. These courses can move quickly and often assume fluency with algebra, trigonometry, and mathematical notation. When any part of that foundation is incomplete, even a capable student may struggle as the material becomes more abstract.

AnyThink does more than help students finish the next assignment. We determine where the problem began.

A student may understand each procedure when it is taught individually, but struggle to determine which method applies when a problem is presented differently. In other cases, the current difficulty may begin with an earlier weakness in algebraic manipulation, functions, equations, or mathematical notation.

Advanced Math Tutoring:

We provide tutoring across all high school and college-level mathematics, including the advanced courses offered at Pace Academy. Our team includes tutors with mathematics degrees and experience supporting demanding courses such as Precalculus Honors, Analysis Honors, AP Calculus AB and BC, Calculus Honors, Discrete Mathematics, and Multivariable Calculus.

Many families come to us after working with tutors who were unable to support these higher-level courses. We have taught Pace students and understand not only how to solve the problems they encounter, but how to teach the underlying mathematics. This is especially important in Precalculus and Precalculus Honors, which follow Pace’s curriculum rather than the AP Precalculus exam. Our teaching methods extend well beyond high school coursework into upper-level college mathematics.

Jacob Royal

“As someone who didn't think they needed a tutor, working with Jake completely changed my perspective, and my trajectory. I finally understood the "why" behind the math, and my grades followed.

Toward the end of my freshman year, my math grade was strong enough that my class dean presented me with what felt like a daunting opportunity: Honors Algebra Two. Despite hearing ‘that class is way too hard’ more times than I can count, I became determined to rise to the challenge. With my parents' guidance, I started meeting with Jake over the summer, casually at first, but it didn't take long for our sessions to become a non-negotiable part of my week. Every Sunday at 11:45, Jake showed up to my house, and I presented him with the class material.

Jake made sure I didn't just learn it, but rather I mastered it. Coming in as someone who wasn't in the highest math track in middle school, Jake immediately got me up to speed. Using a problem set exclusive to his students, he had me confidently tackling concepts like factoring polynomials and solving algebraic equations faster than I expected. And don't let the word "concepts" fool you. I urge you to try solving one of Jake's problems yourself. He redefines what challenging means. What truly sets Jake apart is his ability to push you out of your comfort zone in a way that builds you up rather than breaks you down, something other tutors I've worked with simply couldn't do.

Now, at the end of my sophomore year, I walk into every math test knowing there's a real chance that the paper comes back with a 100 on it. I enjoy math more than I ever have, and that confidence, that skill, that love for the subject, is all thanks to Jake.”

“Jake has made a huge difference in my academic journey at Pace Academy. When I struggled in class and the material didn’t click, he stepped in and helped me truly understand the material instead of just memorizing steps.

Jake’s approach to math is what makes him truly special. He breaks down difficult concepts in a way that makes them manageable, showing me how to approach problems with confidence. The strategies he has taught me have completely transformed the way I think about math, allowing me to see patterns and solutions more clearly and making even challenging topics much easier to grasp. Jake’s methods are proven by my grades, which have improved with each of our sessions, as my understanding continues to grow.

Now, Jake is helping me navigate an even more difficult math class, and I feel far more prepared because of the foundation he helped me build. He doesn’t just focus on getting the right answer; Jake teaches me invaluable skills that I can apply independently.

The tools and strategies he’s given have been incredibly helpful with the ACT, and I know I will continue to use them throughout the rest of my education. Sometimes, I can be stubborn about adapting to a new method if I’ve already gotten used to a different one, but Jake is patient with me, encouraging me to apply the best methods possible. I’m forever grateful for his patience, dedication, and ability to push me to reach my full potential.”
