“My entire life, I’ve had the mindset that I’m just bad at math and nothing could change that. That all changed sophmore year when Jake started tutoring me. I was a solid C plus/B minus math student who struggled with concepts that I felt as though I should have been understanding and that was so frustrating for me.

Meeting with Jake once a week changed how I felt about math for the better. I turned into an A/A+ math student and I even started to enjoy math, which was something I never thought was possible for me. As Jake got to know me and my learning style, he found the perfect  way to teach me math in a way that made sense to me.

I’m forever grateful for the help Jake gave me through the past few years and I would recommend his tutoring services to anyone and everyone! The skills he taught me carried onto taking the ACT and now into college. I feel more confident than ever when doing any type of math and I wouldn’t be where I am without Jake!”

“As someone who didn't think they needed a tutor, working with Jake completely changed my perspective, and my trajectory. I finally understood the "why" behind the math, and my grades followed.

Toward the end of my freshman year, my math grade was strong enough that my class dean presented me with what felt like a daunting opportunity: Honors Algebra Two. Despite hearing ‘that class is way too hard’ more times than I can count, I became determined to rise to the challenge. With my parents' guidance, I started meeting with Jake over the summer, casually at first, but it didn't take long for our sessions to become a non-negotiable part of my week. Every Sunday at 11:45, Jake showed up to my house, and I presented him with the class material.

Jake made sure I didn't just learn it, but rather I mastered it. Coming in as someone who wasn't in the highest math track in middle school, Jake immediately got me up to speed. Using a problem set exclusive to his students, he had me confidently tackling concepts like factoring polynomials and solving algebraic equations faster than I expected. And don't let the word "concepts" fool you. I urge you to try solving one of Jake's problems yourself. He redefines what challenging means. What truly sets Jake apart is his ability to push you out of your comfort zone in a way that builds you up rather than breaks you down, something other tutors I've worked with simply couldn't do.

Now, at the end of my sophomore year, I walk into every math test knowing there's a real chance that the paper comes back with a 100 on it. I enjoy math more than I ever have, and that confidence, that skill, that love for the subject, is all thanks to Jake.”

“I always used to be good at math, but once I got to middle school it got much harder. Starting this year with enhanced algebra, math felt so hard! I went from a A+ student in math to a B+. I knew I needed help. Then my friend Joesph told me about a math tutor named Robert.

As soon as he started tutoring me my grade instantly went back to an A. The day before a test I may be sure I’m going to fail. But by midway through a session with Robert, everything I was worried about feels so easy! I can take the next day confident I will get an A.

Tutoring with Robert has been especially helpful because the way I was taught in school wasn’t making sense to me. I went from being clueless to being able to solve equations in the blink of an eye. Robert always uses great teaching techniques and explains things amazingly. On top of that, he drills problems with me until I have it down and can do them easily. He has helped me so much and I owe my math grade directly to Robert.”

“There was a time where I felt completely stuck and frustrated with math and honestly, with myself. I felt like no matter how hard I worked at math I was getting no results. When I decided to look for a tutor things changed in ways I didn’t expect. When my junior year of high school began, I was taking algebra two. My test grades were so low that I was failing the class. I knew if I didn’t change something I would have to retake the class over the summer.

That’s when I found Kayla. She opens up opportunities for kids who struggle to learn math without extra instruction. She not only goes over my schoolwork, but also provides extra work so I can get as much practice as I need to be successful! I meet with Kayla multiple times a week and she has become more then my tutor she is now someone I trust and appreciate. She genuinely cares about my progress and my grades and it shows with how much effort she puts into my sessions. She is patient supportive and always makes sure i understand even if i am being difficult. I feel as she is not only tutoring becuse its her job. She shows up every single time becuse she wants to see me succeed. Having Kayla as my tutor has helped me not only in class but has helped me relzied my potential.”
